Blue Cat’s FreqAnalyst CM 1.2 released
Blue Cat’s FreqAnalyst CM Edition version 1.2 is out! This spectrum
analysis plug-in is exclusively available for free with Computer Music
Magazine. The new version can be found in Computer Music Magazine 152
(June), which also includes a short tutorial about spectrum analysis to get
started with the plug-in. The new version of the plug-in brings Pro
Tools (RTAS) and 64-bit platforms support as well as several
improvements and fixes.
When installing the plugin you will be asked a code to enable the stereo version of the analyzer. You can obtain this code by registering Blue Cat’s FreqAnalyst CM.

Blue Cat’s Dynamics Appears in Fast Guide to Cubase 5
Blue Cat’s Dynamics plug-in has been recommended by Simon Millward in his book: Fast Guide to
Cubase 5 . The plug-in appears on page 308:
“Overall [Blue Cat's] Dynamics is an extremely flexible dynamics
processor providing the majority of commonly used dynamics functions
within a single unit.”

Blue Cat’s EQ Plugins updated – incl. RTAS and 64-bit support
All our EQ plugins are now available for Pro Tools and 64-bit platforms, check them out!
This update also brings bug fixes and improvements. The upgrade from
the previous version is free for existing customers. It concerns the
Liny EQ, Parametr’EQ and Triple EQ plug-in series.’
Voxengo Deft Compressor version 1.1 update
May 24th, 2010: Voxengo Deft Compressor version 1.1 update is now available for download.
Voxengo Deft Compressor is an audio track and bus compressor plug-in for professional audio production applications.
It is available in AudioUnit and VST plug-in formats, for Mac OS X and Windows computers. Version 1.1 update includes the following changes:
* Attack time range extended down to 0.01ms.
* External side-chain support added.
The characteristic feature of this compressor is its ability to produce “slim” and “slick” sounding compression, with intelligibility enhancement effect.
Such result is achieved by compressor’s timing function that closely resembles the S-curve on both attack and release stages.
The S-curve timing function means that the attack and release stages “look” like S-curve (sigmoid curve).
Such curve sonically adds a very warm coloration, without sharp edge. Beside that, S-curve on longer release times possesses a bit of “hold” time delay where it does not change.
This allows the compressor to have clean, almost uncolored higher frequencies.
Note that for bus compression to be unnoticeable you may need to set both the “Threshold” and “Ratio” parameters to lower values (e.g. “-35” and “1.3:1”, respectively, for input signal with RMS power equal to -24 dBFS).

Free Pitch Corrector and Autotune VST effect
Again Computer Music Magazine comes up trumps finding excellent new VST plugins.
This time they’ve found g200kg’s Pitch Corrector/Autotune ‘KeroVee’
‘KeroVee is a PitchCorrection plugin that works as a VST effect. You need to use KeroVee.dll with your VST compatible host application. ex) Cubase, Sonar,…
KeroVee is focused to so-called ‘Autotune effect’, that is robotic but different from the vocoder. KeroVee can mix two independent transposed outputs of pitch-corrector and bypassed output.’

Duet – Double Tracking VST plugin
Last month my Computer Music Magazine came plopping through the door just as I was on my way off on holiday, when I finally got back I hardly read it.
But then I saw a name on the front cover that I recoginsed from previous issues.
Martin Eastwood, creator of CompressiveCM, a fantastic compression plugin exclusively offered with Computer Music Magazine.
The new plugin is called ‘Duet’ an automatic double-tracking/harmonizer effect that can be used as a VST plugin.
‘By independently pitch-shifting the left and right inputs, Duet allows audio pitch to be manipulated in real-time, while still maintaining the time duration. By also delaying the re-pitched audio and altering its pan position, Duet can accurately create the illusion of multiple voices and add a luscious texture to your music.

Been a while since I last posted but I’ve been reading a lot lately.
Whilst I was reading my computer music magazine I came across this cool bit of news.
Cakewalk are now offering their classic synth and effects vst plugins for download.
