Boss GT-8 and Fender Champion 600 audio recordings of some of the odd effects.

Basically mic’d up the Champion as pictured below,

Volume set at,

Fender Telecaster fitted with Seymour Duncan bridge pickup,

Because the Boss GT-8 has a ridiculous amount of effects we decided to record just a selection of what we could.

We used no additonal effects – we’ve also tried to show what the effects can do, in some recordings we’ve gone with the stock settings. In other recordings we’ve tried to showcase what the effect can do.

ARPESST:Free Synth/Arpegiator VST Instrument from UntidyMusic.

ARPESST:Free Synth/Arpegiator VST Instrument

This is the 2nd of our untidymusic free VST plugins , basically a it’s a messed up synthesisizer.

Wasn’t  sure what to call this, I’ve named it ARPESST due to the fact it uses an arppegiator.

Initially it was to be based around the proteus /1 but definitelty not even close to that.

Although it has a curious sound.

Features:

DELAY, LFO, FMLFO, ADSR, CLIPPER, SOFT DISTORTION andMOOG Filters.

Controls are random really, it works on two ADSR controlled Oscillators going into one one signal, each Oscillator goes through a moog, a clipper, a distortion and is controlled by an LFO.

Get some weird John Carpenter style moog sounds using the Arp and the Delay.

The ‘TWIST’ control really hurts the ears, but can also create those weirder vibes/effects if needed.

Created some presets but ultimately it’s down to the user to create their own.

It works in Reaper and Sonar and seems to have a relatively low CPU usage.

Hope someone enjoys it anyways.

AlgoMusics free VST plugin: SynthString

Very nice sounding synth string emulator. Warm pads and quite low usage on the CPU.

Worth a bit of experimenting with.

Plenty of parameters to mess with.

Free Vst Synth String

‘Emulation (no samples here!) of those string synthesizers of the late 70′s made famous by ARP and Solina. It features a full ADSR envelope generator, a small effect section with a phaser, a delay and of course the ‘ensemble’ effect.’

Umbra VSTi Synth – Free VST Instrument,

Superb Pads created with this free synth available to download here

Free VST Instrument: Umbra Synthesizer VSTi

Umbra is basically a Waveset of 128 complex waveforms as SF2 plus a specially designed VSTi Synthesizer / SF2 (Soundfont) player. The Umbra waveset consists of complex waveforms which
are best suited for dark ambient, soundscapes, athmospheres, textures and rather experimental sounds. The Umbra waveset can be used also with STS-26 and ProtoPlasm21 and other sf2 compatible apps. As of STS-26 and ProtoPlasm 21 it is recommeded not to load it into all slots as sound might get too fat then. ;-)

Umbra VSTi Synthesizer /SF2 Player features:
#

2 Oscillators with 128 waveforms as external SF2 (24 of these waveforms in free version)
#

6 LFO and 1 Sample&Hold incl. 1 dedicated pitch mod LFO
#
